The examples shown demonstrate some of my work empowering students through public installations that foster diversity and inclusion while strengthening the bond of community.
Of Time and Place, 2022-23,
Porcelain mosaic, 56’x 10’
Gratitude for where we live is represented in this installation that recognizes and appreciates the Bow River watershed. Original species include the bison, westslope cutthroat trout, red cap mushroom, balsam poplar, and the northern flicker, inspiration for the work. Nearly 1000 students, teachers, facilities team members and volunteers participated in its realization over the course of one year. Its inception was in response to building damage.

Unity in Collaboration
Students used heavy body acrylic paint applied with brayers to achieve consistency in brush strokes while building up colour and texture for an expressive representation.

Bison Herd
More than a dozen students designed and participated in this special tribute to the school’s mascot on a feature wall in the elementary wing.
Graffiti Wall
The removal of lockers along a crowded corridor freed up wall space, generating an opportunity for artistic enhancement and student voice. This wall honours our namesake and symbolizes aspects of our school.
Collaborations can take many shapes. From small groups to entire grades, to special events and whole school productions, while enhancing curriculum for meaningful experiences.
